Colin Hynes Director of Usability, Staples, Inc.
Bentley ’02, MSHFID
Colin knows that the user
experience is driving business strategy.
If there’s a way to make things easier for people, Colin Hynes will find it. As the Director of Usability for Staples, Inc.,
Colin’s job is to improve the customer experience at every level—using knowledge he gained in the M.S. in Human
Factors in Information Design (MSHFID) program at Bentley. Colin chose a business school that offered rigorous training
in the science of human behavior as well as its practical business applications. Resources such as the
Design and Usability Center at Bentley offered a chance to see what works and doesn’t work from
the customer’s perspective. The real-world credentials and business savvy of the Bentley faculty were
important, too. Not a day goes by that Colin doesn’t use the knowledge, skills and insights
he gained at Bentley. To learn more about the MSHFID program or to bring the redesigned
User Experience Certificate to your company, please contact Bill Gribbons at 781.891.2926
