NSF Computing and Communication Foundations (CCF): Core Programs Grant Deadline: September 15 Eligibility: Medium projects which complement the directorate’s investments in the Expeditions in computing program. Benefits: $500,001 to $1,200,000 total budget with durations up to four years. Microsoft Research PhD Fellowship Program Deadline: October 9, 2010 Eligibility: Applicants must be nominated by their universities, and their nominations must be confirmed by the office of the chair of the eligible department. Student must attend a university in the US or Canada and be enrolled in the computer science, electrical engineering, or mathematics department. A maximum of three applicants per eligible department, per eligible university will be accepted. Benefits: Two academic years, full tuition and fees, $28,000 stipend, salaried internship, conference and travel allowance. The Hertz Foundation Fellowships Deadline: October 30, 2010 Eligibility: Eligible applicants for Hertz Fellowships must be students of the applied physical, biological and engineering sciences who are citizens or permanent residents of the US. Benefits: 1) up to five years, full tuition, plus $31,000 stipend; or 2) 2 years, $36,000 stipend, and tuition.
