For over half a century, the Institute for Defense Analyses has been

The Operational Evaluation Division (OED) of IDA has an immediate career
opening for an analyst supporting the Department of Defense’s (DoD’s)
assessment of the vulnerability of military surface ships and submarines
and the lethality of maritime weapons. The analyst will support and advise
DoD officials involved in performance testing and evaluation of military
surface ships and submarines and weapons. This position involves close
interaction with mid-level and senior civilian and military officials responsible for planning, development, and execution of live weapons tests, and
the analysis of test data. The position requires strong technical skills as well
as the ability to speak and write effectively, think analytically, and work
independently.Candidates should have an advanced technical degree
(Ph.D. preferred or MS with experience) in a physical science, applied
mathematics, or an engineering discipline with relevance to the analysis of
the survivability of surface ships and submarines in a combat environment.
