Lecturer or Senior Lecturer
The Department of Computer Science seeks to
appoint two academics at Lecturer or Senior Lecturer level.
The successful candidate must have a PhD at
the time of appointment. Applicants should provide clear information about their research and
teaching experience as this can influence the level
of appointment. They will be expected to develop
and teach Computer Science courses, to carry out
research, to contribute to departmental administration and to supervise postgraduate students.
Our BSc Honours degrees are accredited by the
British Computer Society and we have a large cohort
of MSc and PhD students. The Department hosts
the UCT Centre in ICT for Development, and also
specialises in telecommunications, visual computing, high-performance computing, digital libraries,
artificial intelligence and security. A specialization
in one of these areas will be an advantage.
