The Department of Computer Science at the
University of Chicago invites applications from
exceptionally qualified candidates in the areas
of theory of computing, systems and networking,
and machine learning for faculty positions at the
rank of assistant Professor.

Applicants must have completed all require-
ments for the PhD except the dissertation at time
of application, and must have completed all re-
quirements for the PhD at time of appointment.
The PhD should be in Computer Science or a re-
lated field such as Mathematics or Statistics.

for the position of Dean of the College of Computing Sciences (CCS). The College, established in 2001, is comprised
of two departments, Computer Science and Information Systems, and an Information Technology program. The
College enrolls approximately 1600 majors, including 925 undergraduates, 600 masters’ students, and 60 doctoral
students; these students, representing about 20 percent of NJIT’s student body, are taught by 35 tenured and
tenure-track faculty and 18 full-time, non-tenure track faculty. Undergraduate degree programs in Computer
Science and Information Systems are ABET accredited. U.S. News & World Report’s 2012 annual Guide to America's
Best Colleges ranks NJIT among the nation's top tier of national research universities.
The Dean serves as the chief executive officer of the College with primary responsibility for enhancing its national
leadership in computing education and research. Candidates must possess an earned doctorate and a record of
teaching, research, publication, and funding that merits appointment as a full professor with tenure in CCS.
