The Department of Computer Science and Software Engineering (CSSE) invites applications for
a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant /
Associate Professor level to begin Spring 2011 or

The Large-Scale Distributed Systems group
conducts advanced research in the area of design,
analysis, modeling and evaluation of distributed
systems. Our current focus is to create innovative
technologies to build next generation large-scale
computing platforms and to simplify and automate the management of complex IT systems
and services. Our researchers have expertise in
networking, statistics, modeling, distributed systems, and operating systems. Our group has many
ongoing projects, especially in the emerging Cloud
Computing area. The group strongly believes in
publishing our research and advancing the state-of-the-art. We also build technologies that solve
real world problems and ultimately help industry
business needs. Many of our research results have
been/will be transferred into industry products.
The group is seeking a member to work in the
area of distributed systems. The candidate must
have deep knowledge and extensive experience in
system architecture design and implementation.
He/she must have a PhD in CS/CE with strong
publication records in the following areas:

˲ ˲ virtualization, resource provisioning
˲ ˲ performance, reliability, dependability
and security
˲ ˲ data centers and cloud computing
