ACM Europe Council
Serving the European Computing Science Community
ACM announces the ACM Europe Council:
16 leading European computer scientists from
academia and industry to spearhead expansion of
ACM's high-quality technical activities, conferences
and services in Europe.
“Our goal is to share ACM’s vast array
of valued resources and services on
a global scale. We want to discover
the work and welcome the talent
from all corners of the computing
arena so that we are better positioned to appreciate the key issues
and challenges within Europe’s academic, research, and professional
computing communities, and
respond accordingly,” says
Professor Dame Wendy Hall,
U. of Southampton (UK),
ACM President.
Supporting the European Computing
Community
ACM Europe aims to strengthen the European
computing community at large, through its
members, chapters, sponsored conferences and
symposia. Together with other scientific societies,
it helps make the public and decision makers
aware of technical, educational, and social issues
related to computing.
