and have a sustainable research program. We are interested in candidates who work in systems areas such as parallel and distributed computing, networking, and security, or in computer graphics, robotics, or computer gaming, but all areas of computer science will be considered.

The department offers a B.S. in computer science, a B.S. in computer engineering with the Electrical and Computer Engineering department, and a digital art program with the Visual Arts department. We are developing programs in cognitive science and computational science. We offer introductory courses that encourage students with a variety of interests to study CS. Faculty research areas include HCI, NLP, databases, software testing, software design, and computing history.
